Made by a pluviophile
MeteoStack exists because one weather app is one opinion. I love rain (the smell before it, the sound on the window) and I got tired of opening five tabs to see whether ECMWF, GFS and ICON agreed it was actually coming.
So MeteoStack stacks every major weather model on one screen: the European ECMWF and its AI sibling AIFS, the American GFS, the German ICON, the Canadian GEM, the Japanese JMA, the French ARPEGE/AROME, the UK Met Office and more. Each one is a row. When the rows agree, you can plan. When they don't, you know the forecast is genuinely uncertain, something a single-model app will never tell you.
Principles
- Show the disagreement. Spread and confidence are as important as the number itself.
- No secret sauce. The consensus method is fully documented.
- Open by default. Free widgets, a free API, Markdown pages and llms.txt so the forecast can travel.
- Fast and light. No frameworks, no tracking beyond basic analytics, works on slow connections.
Data
Model data comes from national weather services via Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0). Place names from GeoNames. MeteoStack is independent and not affiliated with any of the agencies whose models it displays.
